After two years work building an aircraft the Sport Aircraft Club now has a two seat Sonex aircraft for the use of Club members. After two years work building an aircraft the Sport Aircraft Club now has a two seat Sonex aircraft for the use of Club members. Approximately 30 members of the club worked up to four sessions a week to build this kit aircraft in a small shed kindly loaned by Dr. Dan Anderson for the project. Dr Anderson generously agreed to the use of the shed behind his surgery for building a Sonex aircraft. The project took two years with an enthusiastic group turning up regularly for one or more of the four-hour sessions. My position in the club is currently secretary. During the build process myself and a couple of other experienced members acted as mentors for the more junior members. Before we could started we had to call on a few members to help clear the shed add electrical power some paint and repair a falling down lean to.
